Job summary

Siemens Electrification & Automation in Hebburn, England, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop embedded software for power system protection devices. Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
• Experience in embedded software development using C/C++.
• Understanding of microcontrollers and embedded systems architecture.
• Knowledge of software design principles and version control systems.
• Experience with Linux OS in embedded environments.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software using C/C++.
• Implement new product features and enhancements.
• Investigate and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to quality improvements.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Work with hardware, systems, test, and product teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Follow development processes and quality procedures.
• Provide production and post-production support.
