Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Senior Hand Therapist to provide clinical leadership and operational management for the Hand Therapy service across three London boroughs. The role involves directing the MDT, supervising staff, and driving service development with a focus on evidence-based practice.

You will be HCPC registered with substantial Hand Therapy experience, and you will work at Queen's Hospital in Romford within NHS Agenda for Change Band

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC Registration is required.
• Significant Hand Therapy experience with leadership is essential.
• Desirable: Leadership training.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical leadership in assessment, treatment and management of Hand Therapy patients.
• Offer specialist guidance to MDT and external professionals on Hand Therapy care.
• Lead Hand Therapy team in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating service.
• Lead teaching, supervision and appraisal of peers, bands 5–7 and support staff.
• Deliver highly specialised care for complex Hand Therapy patients with advanced assessments and interventions.
• Support Therapy Manager in service development and clinical innovation.
• Deputise for Therapy Manager in outpatient clinics and in reception/admin areas.
• Evaluate day-to-day Hand Therapy operations and develop policies and guidelines.
