Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a senior Hand Therapist to provide clinical and operational leadership for the Hand Therapy service across trust sites. You will lead the Hand Therapy team, deliver evidence-based care, supervise and develop staff, and work with MDT colleagues to improve patient outcomes while upholding the Trust's PRIDE values.

The role requires HCPC registration with extensive hand therapy experience and leadership ability; DBS check

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is essential.
• Significant hand therapy clinical experience is required.
• Leadership experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical leadership in assessment, treatment and management of Hand Therapy patients.
• Offer specialist guidance to MDT and external professionals on Hand Therapy care.
• Lead the Hand Therapy team in planning, delivery and evaluation of services.
• Teach, supervise and appraise junior staff, physiotherapy assistants and students.
• Deliver highly specialised care for complex Hand Therapy patients with advanced assessment and interventions.
• Support the Therapy Manager in service development and clinical innovation.
• Deputise for the Therapy Manager in outpatient clinics when required.
• Deputise across other areas such as reception and admin teams when needed.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and clinical guidelines using evidence-based practice.
