Job summary

MSC Cruises is seeking a Guarantee Engineer for its Technical New Building Department. You will assess, coordinate, and implement all Guarantee Claims raised by ship officers throughout the guarantee period, ensuring clear communication among stakeholders for prompt resolution.

The role involves leading weekly shipyard calls, preparing monthly progress reports, and maintaining the guarantee database while coordinating with MSC personnel and shipyards globally.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comment technical drawings.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a similar technical field.
• Autonomous and highly motivated candidate, capable of mobilizing people/resources and actions effectively.
• The right to live and work in the UK
• Fluent in English (spoken & written); knowledge of French or Italian is a plus.
• Ability to easily travel to EU Shipyards and to the vessels (worldwide) regularly.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the responsible person and primary contact between ships, technical superintendents and shipyards.
• Resolves Guarantees independently and escalates when appropriate.
• Ensures cashflow by coordinating refunds for MSC interventions via reconciliation process.
• Leads weekly conference calls with shipyards to discuss main guarantees.
• Coordinates onboard service interventions with shipyards and updates the guarantee database.
• Prepares monthly guarantee progress reports and lessons learned for project teams.
