Job summary

Carnival Corporation & plc is seeking a Maritime Design Engineer (Shipbuilding) to drive engineering workstreams across CCS programmes. You will develop compliant designs, drawings and specifications, and support classification submissions and approvals through collaboration with shipyards, brands and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, naval architecture or related field.
• Experience in engineering design within the marine, offshore, energy or similar environments.
• Experience managing engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
• Understanding of international standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience contributing to multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive engineering coordination with the Project Manager and delivery teams.
• Deliver engineering designs, ensuring they meet project and brand requirements.
• Support classification and regulatory compliance, aligning with contractual specs and maritime regulations.
• Coordinate design activity across programmes with shipyards, suppliers and internal teams.
• Drive discussions across shipyard and brand stakeholders to align interfaces and actions.
• Produce and review engineering documentation to support validation, certification and delivery.
• Apply engineering judgement to resolve conflicts and manage risks while maintaining design integrity.
• Contribute to design reviews and risk assessments for safety and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement and standardisation across vessels and programmes.
