Job summary

EAG Bioenergy is seeking a hands-on Group Health & Safety Manager to lead safety across the UK and Ireland portfolio. You will visit sites, perform audits, review risk assessments and drive practical improvements on the ground rather than from a desk.

With NEBOSH Diploma and strong industrial experience, you’ll shape group safety policy, support permit-to-work systems, and report on performance and risks to senior management while traveling regularly across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Qualifications

• Significant health and safety experience within energy, waste, recycling, anaerobic digestion, manufacturing or industrial environments.
• NEBOSH Diploma or comparable senior health and safety qualification.
• Experience supporting multiple operational sites.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and practical compliance.
• Proven audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Knowledge of contractor management and permit to work systems.
• Confidence working with site teams, operational management and senior stakeholders.
• Practical, constructive approach to improving standards.
• Flexibility to travel regularly throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Visit sites on operational sites, carry out audits and inspections.
• Review risk assessments and working practices.
• Investigate incidents and drive improvements.
• Establish review programmes for locations, strengthen policies and systems.
• Support contractor and permit to work controls.
• Provide senior management with performance, risks and priorities.
