Job description

Excellent opportunity to join our Group Financial Reporting Team as Senior Group Accountant.

This roles provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and contribute to key areas of Group Finance. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting Group reporting, with a focus on IFRS reporting processes, statutory accounting, consolidation, and financial analysis.

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain exposure to, and positively influence, high-impact reporting processes within the Group and build cross-functional and team relationships.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Investment Accounting : Work closely with the cash and investment management and accounting teams across the group to ensure a smooth, efficient and well controlled reporting process, with appropriate oversight to ensure accurate, compliant and transparent management information.
  • Financial Statements : Draft / review financial statement notes for inclusion in the Group’s annual report, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
  • Process & Control Improvements : Drive enhancements in reporting processes and documentation, with a particular focus on strengthening controls.
  • Entity-Level Reporting : Coordinate and review group submissions for specific Group entities, ensuring timely submissions and resolving accounting queries in line with the Group timetable.
  • Analytical Review : Perform regular reviews of financial data across the Group to identify trends and support the production of high-quality management information for internal boards, committees, and external stakeholders.
  • Group Consolidation : Support the Group consolidation process, including preparation of consolidation journals.
  • Audit Liaison : Build strong working relationships with external auditors, managing key deliverables and facilitating smooth communication across business areas.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Investments, Risk, and other Group functions to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
  • Ad-Hoc Support : Provide flexible support to Group and UK Finance teams as needed, contributing to wider team goals.
What We’re Looking For :
  • Several years post-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA).
  • Ideally, experience of IFRS (or relevant other regulatory) investment accounting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and enhance financial processes and controls, including identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving implementation providing actionable insights, and maintaining clear and accurate process documentation.
  • Experience of working with and driving improvements in reporting systems, including managing and maintaining standing data.
  • Able to interpret accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and present impact assessments to senior management.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a collaborative mindset and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships including communicating insights effectively to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
