Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Ground Investigation Engineer to lead complex geotechnical projects across Scotland. You will plan and deliver ground investigations, provide technical leadership to drill crews and engineers, and mentor junior staff while ensuring high standards of safety and quality.

Based in Scotland, the role involves site-based delivery, coordination with clients and stakeholders, and occasional travel to remote locations.

Qualifications

Leading and delivering ground investigation projects.
Engineering geology or geotechnical engineering background.
Ground investigation reporting and data management.
Health, safety and environmental leadership.
Managing multidisciplinary site teams.
Technical review and quality assurance.
Commercial awareness and project delivery.
Client-facing project management.
Mentoring and developing engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead planning and delivery of ground investigation projects across Scotland.
Ensure resources, programmes and commercial requirements are managed.
Provide technical leadership to engineers, drill crews and project teams.
Review investigation strategies, specifications and methodologies.
Support project managers with programme planning and resource management.
Review AGS data, laboratory results and technical deliverables.
Mentor engineers and graduates within the Scottish Ground Investigation team.
Build and maintain strong client relationships; drive framework growth and tender submissions.
