Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer to join its Ground Engineering team, based from the Kilsyth office in Glasgow. The role is predominantly site-based, with travel to the North of England and Midlands as needed and occasional away stays.

You will lead geotechnical works, manage project teams, and ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards while supporting project objectives in quality, programme and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering geotechnical works and supervising project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to write HSQE documentation.
• CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, PTS or equivalent credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding the progress of the project and relevant developments.
• Writing and maintaining of HSQE documentation.
• Supervision & management of the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works to an excellent technical standard.
• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Client, the supply chain and third parties.
• Maintain high levels of personal safety and environmental standards, implementing safe systems of work on site.
• Accurate record keeping for site activities, and short term forecasting of resources on a project basis.
• Awareness of project and business goals and able to relay these to the project team to increase workforce engagement with business.
