Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director for Ground Engineering in the UK. The role entails overseeing geotechnical data, providing design and project-life-cycle input, and leading a high-performing Ground Engineering team across multidisciplinary projects.

You will mentor junior staff, maintain client relationships, and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to win and deliver projects with high quality and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with 2:1 or higher.
• MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
• Chartered status.
• Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and investigation practices.
• Understanding of current design codes, standards and best practices in geotechnical design.

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses.
• Provide consultative advice during all project stages including site selection and optioneering.
• Manage geotechnical projects with scheduling, coordination and budget.
• Lead Ground Engineering team to deliver projects to time and quality standards.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders to maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
• Collaborate with Transport, Water, Energy and Buildings teams on project work and tenders.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
