Job summary

Baringa is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join its Technical Advisory team, focusing on high voltage grid connections and investor-facing technical work. You will apply power systems expertise to buy-side, sell-side and lender due diligence across generation, storage and large load assets.

You will review studies and connection policies, coordinate with clients, and deliver practical recommendations through reports and presentations.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong foundation in electrical or power systems engineering with a relevant degree.
• Experience undertaking technical due diligence and lender technical advisory assignments.
• Experience with grid connection processes and technical compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience in power system studies using DIgSILENT, PSS/E, PSCAD or IPSA.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support investors, lenders, developers, utilities and public-sector clients on grid connection and network questions.
• Review connection applications, offers, ICP/IDNO arrangements and energisation milestones.
• Assess grid code and connection compliance requirements such as reactive power and voltage control.
• Review power system studies and assess load flow, fault level and harmonics.
• Comment on design, condition and capacity headroom of transmission and distribution assets.
• Turn technical information into clear findings through reports, risk registers and presentations.
