Job summary

Sophos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Managed Services and Emerging Technology Group. You will design, build, ship, and support reliable Go software with opportunities to work on TypeScript-based systems, leading complex features end to end and mentoring others.

You will contribute to design discussions, uphold engineering standards, and use modern tooling including AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency and quality across frontend and backend platforms.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years commercial software engineering experience
• Strong practical Go experience; TypeScript preferred
• Experience with backend services and modern frontend frameworks

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Go features and services
• Lead end-to-end feature delivery and manage technical risks
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and tooling improvements
