Job summary

Oliver Bernard is seeking a Senior Golang Engineer in London to join a technically ambitious team building AI-powered platforms. You will design and evolve high-performance backend services using Go, with a focus on production systems that integrate LLMs and GenAI APIs.

The role offers significant influence over architecture and the GenAI strategy. The candidate will work on distributed systems, RAG, agents, and model integration, ensuring scalable APIs and secure, reliable AI-enabled solutions

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience building backend systems with Go.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, concurrency and scalable architectures.
• Experience operating production services in AWS, GCP or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve high-performance backend services and platforms using Go.
• Develop production-grade systems that integrate LLMs, GenAI APIs and AI-powered workflows.
• Work on RAG, agents, tool calling, prompt orchestration and model integration.
• Design scalable APIs, distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Own technical decisions from design through to deployment and operation.
• Collaborate closely with product, platform, data and AI engineers.
• Champion engineering quality through testing, observability, performance optimisation and clean architecture.
• Help establish best practices for building AI-enabled systems.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the wider engineering culture.
