Job summary

Oliver Bernard is seeking a Senior Golang Engineer in London to join a technically ambitious team building AI-powered platforms. You will design and evolve high-performance backend services using Go, with a focus on production systems that integrate LLMs and GenAI APIs.

The role offers significant influence over architecture and the GenAI strategy. The candidate will work on distributed systems, RAG, agents, and model integration, ensuring scalable APIs and secure, reliable AI-enabled solutions

Qualifications

• Experience operating production services in AWS, GCP or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve high-performance backend services and platforms using Go.

We're looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the next generation of AI-powered products and platforms.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a genuine interest in Generative AI, LLMs and intelligent systems. You'll have significant influence over architecture, technical direction and how we bring AI capabilities into production at scale.

What you'll be doing

• Design, build and evolve high-performance backend services and platforms using Go (Golang).

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial experience building backend systems with Go.
• Excellent understanding of distributed systems, APIs, concurrency and scalable architectures.
• Experience building and operating production services in AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Solid knowledge of databases, messaging systems and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Generative AI / LLM technologies and integrating models into real-world applications.
• Understanding of concepts such as RAG, embeddings, vector databases, agents or LLM evaluation.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a pragmatic approach to solving complex problems.
• Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively with other senior engineers.
• A passion for technology and a desire to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

The role

Location: London

Working pattern: 3 days in the London office, 2 days working from home
