Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Senior Data and Insights Officer to shape geospatial strategy and deliver enterprise GIS solutions. You will lead GIS projects, mentor colleagues, and translate stakeholder needs into practical GIS/BI outcomes.

Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise/Server, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and web mapping is essential. The role offers hybrid working and a strong pension package within a major local authority.

Qualifications

Experience delivering enterprise GIS solutions in an enterprise environment.
Ability to design, develop, test and implement GIS applications and services.
Knowledge of spatial databases, GIS data management and administration.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing and improving the corporate GIS.
Lead the analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of GIS apps and services.
Develop solutions using ESRI platform including Experience Builder and Instant Apps.
Design and support web mapping applications and maintain geodatabases.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and stakeholder liaison.
