Job summary

Design for Manufacture Resourcing (DFM-R) Limited is recruiting Geotechnical Engineers for a major UK nuclear new-build programme. The role is remote/home-based with occasional UK office travel, focused on ground investigations, geotechnical design and risk assessment.

Candidates should have a Civil/Geotechnical or Engineering Geology degree, strong GI interpretation skills, and progress towards CEng or CGeol. OpenGround, Leapfrog and PLAXIS are used within the programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Geotechnical or Engineering Geology.
• Experience in ground investigation and interpretation.
• Strong geotechnical design capability.
• Experience with foundations, earthworks and retaining structures.
• Progress towards CEng/CGeol or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical desk studies.
• Design and specification of ground investigations.
• Laboratory and in-situ testing requirements.
• Interpretation of GI data.
• Development of site-specific ground models.
• Derivation of geotechnical design parameters.
• Foundation design and retaining structures.
• Earthworks and slopes, buried structures, excavation support.
• Ground improvement and soil-structure interaction.
• Geotechnical risk assessment and design substantiation.
