We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Leeds.
A little more about your role
- Develop professional and technically competent reports, liaising with specialists and clients, utilizing efficient practices to deliver industry-leading, value-added services.
- Manage and deliver projects effectively, including robust financial management.
- Assist in managing team resources and allocating project tasks appropriately.
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and develop professional staff.
- Support all aspects of project delivery, including client liaison, contractor and sub-consultant coordination, public and statutory consultations, quality control, and specialist management.
- Supervise ground investigations and construction activities on-site.
- Participate in profile raising and bidding activities within the Leeds team and UK-wide.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate
- Technical expertise in geotechnical engineering with a strong understanding of core principles.
- Basic design skills for retaining walls, foundations, and slope stabilization solutions.
- Experience in consultancy, with good commercial awareness and client/contractor relationships.
- Proven ability to deliver geotechnical projects, including report preparation at a high technical level.
- Understanding of client needs and ability to influence contract specifications.
- Excellent report-writing and client communication skills.
- Experience in geotechnical desk studies, design, procurement, supervision of ground investigations, and report checking in accordance with Eurocode 7: Part 1.
- Knowledge of Eurocode 7, UK design codes, ground investigation, and construction contracts.
- Ability to utilize geotechnical software for designing foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and slope stability.
- Skills to critically evaluate work by others, including drawings, calculations, and reports, with a proven track record.
