Job summary

Geowynd, part of the Ocean Infinity group, seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support interpretation of geotechnical data and design for offshore wind foundations, including fixed-bottom and floating options. Role can be based in Southampton or Italy, contributing to feasibility, site investigation, detailed design, and operations.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical interpretation.
• Proven experience delivering geotechnical design for offshore wind foundations.

Responsibilities

• Draft robust geotechnical interpretive reports with statistical parameter selection for foundation design and cable route analysis.
• Develop forward-thinking geotechnical innovations for state-of-the-art analysis, interpretation, and design methods/tools.
• Support offshore geotechnical campaigns with an onshore team including multi-vessel logistics and seafloor/drilling equipment.
• Lead development of laboratory test schedules and specifications, selecting tests to reflect site conditions and design methodology.
• Perform advanced geotechnical design analysis for fixed-bottom and floating wind turbine foundations.
• Lead foundation installation evaluations with support of a principal engineer.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, seismic processors, and client project teams for informed site strategies and optimized designs.
