Job summary

Align Property Services seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex ground investigations and deliver cutting-edge earthwork designs for highways and land development across the North of England.

You will mentor junior engineers, supervise construction of designs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from the Durham base with weekly Northallerton office visits. A strong track record in geotechnical projects and client liaison is essential.

Qualifications

BSc in Geology, Earth Sciences or related field; MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Eng or equivalent.
Chartered Geologist (CGeol) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent accreditation.
Extensive post-graduate experience in engineering geology/geotechnical engineering.
Experience leading landslide investigations and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, procurement and delivery of ground investigation programmes.
Oversee site investigations, logging and monitoring activities.
Develop ground models from geological and geotechnical data.
Carry out advanced geotechnical assessments including foundations and slope stability.
Lead landslide investigations and mitigation solutions.
Prepare technical reports, specs and design documentation.
Manage budgets, programmes and quality/governance.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
Build client relationships and support business development.
