Job summary

Igne Group Limited is seeking a Lead Driller to join our Ground Investigation division in Durham. This full-time, permanent role requires travel and offers overtime and regular bonuses along with subsistence and away-from-home payments.

The position focuses on leading drilling operations, maintaining equipment, and training junior drillers, with a supportive benefits package and opportunities for development within a growing geotechnical contractor.

Qualifications

• Background in geotechnical drilling.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
• NVQ Level 2 Land Drilling (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out all drilling works on-site using open hole and cased methods with air/water flush systems.
• Maintain rigs and equipment; report defects prior to works commencing and close down inspections.
• Train Assistant drillers to develop to Lead driller level.
• Ensure equipment can access work areas and meet project requirements.
