Job summary

Cotswold Archaeology is recruiting a Senior Geomatics Officer to lead large, high‑impact geomatics projects across the organisation. You will provide technical leadership in archaeological survey, GIS, reality capture, and digital workflows while mentoring Geomatics Officers and working with project teams to deliver high‑quality outputs.

The role involves developing standards, supporting innovation, and ensuring data quality across offices.

Qualifications

• Essential degree or equivalent and 5+ years in archaeology/geomatics.
• Extensive GIS experience, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Experience with CAD, photogrammetry and LiDAR workflows.
• Mentoring and leadership of geomatics staff and projects.
• Excellent ICT and Microsoft 365 proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex geomatics projects and provide technical leadership.
• Mentor Geomatics Officers and Assistants.
• Ensure QA of geomatics outputs and data management standards.
• Support innovation and digital workflows across sites and offices.
• Deliver equipment and software planning input and recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams for successful delivery.
