Job summary

Cura Terrae Land and Nature is seeking a Senior Archaeological Project Manager to lead our Historic Environment team. The role combines field leadership, business development, and client management to drive successful projects across lifecycle from tender through post-excavation.

Remote and hybrid work options are available as we expand in the UK, including the East of England growth hub; you will mentor teams, ensure QA and compliance and help win new work while delivering high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

• Business Development & Winning Work: Proactively identify market opportunities, establish client relationships and draft winning fee proposals and tenders.
• Autonomous Project Delivery: Manage complex archaeological projects, delivering on time and within scope, compliant with CIfA standards and planning frameworks.
• Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, onboard and line-manage project staff; mentor on reporting and field methods.
• Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as main contact for clients and planning authorities, ensuring smooth sign-offs and repeatable partnerships.
• Commercial & Operational Oversight: Monitor budgets, manage variations, oversee logistics and ensure QA across deliverables.
• Health & Safety Leadership: Enforce safety standards, review RAMS and promote a positive safety culture.
