Job summary

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a number of permanent Band 6 Health Science Practitioner specialists (Senior Genetic Technologist) to work at NEY GLH Central Laboratory based at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds.

Applicants should have a Biological Science degree with Genomics/Molecular Biology content, at least 3 years relevant experience, and registration with AHCS or HCPC as Genetic Technologist or Biomedical Scientist.

Qualifications

• First degree in Biological Science with Genomics/Molecular Biology content.
• Registration with AHCS or HCPC as Genetic Technologist or Biomedical Scientist is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience; ideally in a diagnostic laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Work 37.5 hours per week full-time and participate in out-of-hours rotas including weekends and bank holidays.
• Deliver accurate genomic testing and ensure timely reports under tight deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with team members and provide high-quality laboratory support.
