Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) invites applications for an Associate Genetic Technologist based at the NHS North West Genomics Laboratory Hub, Liverpool, at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. This permanent role offers a chance to work in an advanced diagnostic genetics laboratory as part of a national genomic medicine service.

The successful candidate will have extensive laboratory experience; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Extensive and proven laboratory experience.
• Experience in diagnostic genetic laboratory work desirable.
• Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory processes as part of a technical team.
• Perform administrative tasks as required.
• Supervise less experienced staff in own area of work when required.
• Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of highly complex equipment.
• Work to tight deadlines and collaborate with colleagues to deliver a reliable service.
