Job summary

Opticore IT is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to deliver and operate GCP foundational services for a large enterprise client. You’ll collaborate with Google architects to enable the next phase of cloud deployment, with an initial 6-month contract (Inside IR35) and 1 day on site in London.

Qualifications

• GCP Architecture & broad engineering experience across Shared VPC, Compute, GKE, and Cloud Run.
• Terraform-driven IaC delivery for org hierarchy, folders, projects, IAM, and networking.
• CI/CD pipelines delivered end-to-end via GitHub Actions, with IaC focus.
• Hands-on delivery of landing zone changes and runbooks for operations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and implement foundational services in GCP landing zones with architects.
• Design and build Terraform-driven infrastructure across the GCP hierarchy.
• Build and own CI/CD pipelines delivering infrastructure as code.
• Own ongoing changes from the GCP architecture review.
• Manage Shared VPC and VPC Service Controls for secure projects.
• Build and deploy workloads on GKE, Compute, and Cloud Run.
• Collaborate on landing zone standards and firewall integration.
• Produce runbooks to hand services to operations.
• Support next phase of application deployment at pace.
