Job summary

La Fosse Associates partners with a leading UK insurer to hire a Senior GCP Data Platform Engineer in London. You will own the cloud infrastructure, automation and platform capabilities within GCP, delivering scalable data platform solutions with autonomy and close collaboration with Data Engineering and Platform teams.

The role emphasizes IaC, Terraform, CI/CD, security and observability, with a hybrid model (1 day in the office) and a competitive package up to £90,000 plus a 30% bonus.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience operating and engineering platforms within GCP.
• Excellent Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines from the ground up.
• Strong DevOps and platform engineering background.
• Experience supporting production cloud environments.
• Knowledge of networking, security and cloud infrastructure best practices.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of technical delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Pragmatic approach balancing technical excellence with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure within GCP using IaC.
• Own and evolve Terraform modules, deployment standards and platform patterns.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support data platform delivery.
• Support and optimise core GCP services used across the data estate.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging and observability capabilities.
• Define and maintain secure IAM, access control and governance practices.
• Develop reusable tools and automation that improve developer experience.
• Support integration and migration activities between Azure and GCP where required.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational runbooks.
• Partner with Data Engineers and Platform teams to ensure solutions align with wider engineering standards.
