Job summary

Rocksteady Studios in London is seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join a team of gameplay coders delivering world-class AAA experiences across platforms. The role focuses on exciting, emergent gameplay by coordinating combat-related and navigation NPC behaviors that empower player freedom and choice.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis; you can work from home or in the office on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, with onsite collaboration in Kentish Town on Tue/Wed.

Qualifications

• Experience developing gameplay systems using C++, including AI, navigation, and combat.
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
• Experience contributing to commercial game titles, preferably AAA.
• Strong game design skills with portfolio evidence.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Creating, developing, and maintaining gameplay systems and features in C++.
• Producing solutions to large, complex, and sometimes not well-defined gameplay problems.
• Working closely with Design to deliver engaging gameplay and inform of risks and opportunities.
• Providing feedback to teammates, including via code reviews.
• Being a positive, active team member with broad responsibility for your work.
• Communicating effectively with Lead, team, Production and other departments.
• Supporting production processes, including backlog review, task estimation and breakdown, and Jira management.
• Following and championing development best practices.
