Job summary

Dignity Funeral Directors is seeking a Senior Funeral Director in West London to guide families with empathy and professionalism while leading a three-branch team. You will deliver and oversee funerals, manage staff and ensure compliance across branches in Chiswick, Shepherd’s Bush and Marylebone.

You will also lead local marketing and community engagement, build relationships with care homes and celebrants, and support families from diverse faiths and cultures.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing a team in a service-led environment.
• Funeral industry experience, including leading services and caring for people who have died.
• Experience managing people: recruitment, performance management and resolving conflict.
• Strong planning, documentation and compliance skills.
• Ability to make timely, confident decisions and delegate as needed.
• Full UK driving licence; ability to drive for role.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and take turns on call.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support funeral services, delivering complex arrangements and overseeing your team’s work.
• Manage and develop your team through recruitment, onboarding, 1:1s, performance reviews and rota management.
• Care for those who have died, ensuring respectful, timely care and accurate records/documents.
• Be on call, sharing the duty phone with your team, day and night.
• Lead local marketing and community engagement with care homes, celebrants and local groups.
