Dignity Funeral Directors is seeking an experienced Funeral Director based in Devizes to oversee funeral operations, ensuring every service is delivered to the highest standard and representing the Life Services Group in the community.

You will lead a compassionate team, coordinate services from first meeting to funeral day and beyond, and support families with clarity, sensitivity and professional care within legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading funerals and guiding families.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Strong knowledge of funeral processes and regulatory framework.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Calm, respectful approach to service delivery.
• Ability to handle coffin bearing and manual tasks.
• Flexibility to work weekends and on-call shifts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and internal systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead funeral services with professionalism and attention to detail.
• Run pre-funeral briefings for clear coordination.
• Take a consultative approach with families exploring options.
• Collaborate with arrangers, specialists and care teams; manage diaries and records.
• Assist with coffin preparation and handling of the deceased.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in training.
• Build relationships with care homes, celebrants and local groups.
