Job summary

Alter Domus in Jersey is seeking an entry-level accountant to support cash management, bookkeeping and reporting for client entities, in line with UK GAAP or IFRS. You will assist with preparing management accounts and financial statements and help respond to audit queries, working closely with tax advisors as needed.

• Educated to the equivalent of 5 GCSEs (Maths and English preferred).
• Studying towards ACCA or ACA with study costs supported.
• Fund or corporate services accounting experience is an asset.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Team spirit, initiative, and strong client relationships are valued.
• High IT literacy with Excel and Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct effective cash management and regular cash reconciliations for client entities.

Job description

• Conducting effective cash management of client entities and undertaking regular cash reconciliations.
• Assisting with the bookkeeping and reporting of companies, funds and associated fund structures.
• Assisting with the preparation of client entities management accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS.
• Assist with the completion of audit queries.
• Liaising with tax advisors in respect of ongoing tax compliance responsibilities.
• Responding to clients' requests in terms of tax planning in close collaboration with external tax advisors, if needed.
• Being part of a team of part or fully qualified accountants and ensuing all reporting deadlines are adhered too.

YOUR PROFILE

• You will be educated to the equivalent of 5 GCSE’s (equivalent of grades 5 to 9 in Maths and English preferred), A-Level’s or University Degree.
• Studying or be prepared to study towards a recognized professional qualification, such as ACCA or ACA (study costs fully supported by Alter Domus)
• Knowledge or previous experience in fund or corporate services accounting will be considered as an asset (but not essential).
• Ambitious with a high level of energy and commitment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet a range of deadlines.
• You possess team spirit, a willingness and capacity to build strong client relationships and take initiative to act without waiting for direction when appropriate.
• High level of IT literacy with strong Excel and Word skills.
