Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable Java/Angular solutions. You will mentor peers, define standards, and align delivery with product priorities across distributed teams.

You will drive modern SDLC adoption, enterprise microservices, and AI-assisted development practices while ensuring secure, high-quality code and strong collaboration with product owners and UX designers.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Expert-level HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with attention to UI quality.
• Hands-on Java (8+) development in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Angular (6+) development with component architecture.
• Deep microservices understanding with enterprise-scale experience.
• Ability to define reusable templates and components for delivery.
• Experience mentoring engineers across distributed teams.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and validating outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable full-stack solutions using Java and Angular.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, reusable templates, and shared components.
• Architect and implement microservices-based solutions for enterprise systems.
• Partner with UX designers and product owners to align delivery with roadmaps.
• Drive adoption of modern SDLC practices including CI/CD and testing.
• Mentor and coach engineers, promoting technical excellence and ownership.
• Influence architecture decisions and contribute to cross-functional discussions.
• Manage changing priorities to deliver predictable outcomes with minimal direction.
• Communicate delivery progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and secure coding standards.
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
