Job summary

RemoteStar is partnering with a FTSE 250 fintech client to hire a Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI enablement) for Lifecycle. London-based with hybrid work (2/3 in office).

You will own AI-driven tooling across the Java backend and frontend stack, building tests, deploying features, and linking AI tools with Jira, GitLab and CI/CD. You’ll be deeply involved in TDD, paired programming, and crafting scalable solutions that demonstrate strong technical judgment and ownership from design to production

Qualifications

• Strong background in software engineering with production systems.
• Experience across backend Java and frontend React.
• Proficient in test-driven development and pairing.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AI-enabled tooling for day-to-day engineering work, including coding assistants and test generation.
• Improve observability of the AI pipeline and track tooling performance.
• Automate repetitive manual steps in coding, testing and releases.
• Deliver in small, releasable chunks with continuous deployment.
• Collaborate with product to align features with delivery goals.
• Lead AI adoption improvements and refine development processes.
• Integrate AI tools with Jira, Confluence and GitLab safely.
• Ensure AI tooling complies with security and data handling rules.
• Mentor engineers on effective AI tooling usage and best practices.
• Work with security/compliance to meet regulatory requirements.
• Track metrics like cycle time and defect rates to drive improvements.
