Job summary

Remotestar is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI enablement) for Lifecycle. You’ll own a hands-on Java backend and build tooling that embeds AI into daily engineering work, including AI-assisted test generation and deployments. You will help shape how your team adopts AI safely while improving delivery performance.

You’ll work on observability, integration with Jira, Confluence, and GitLab, and mentor others on AI tooling while maintaining high standards in software craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Proficient across the stack with Java backend and frontend React/React Native.
• Expert in test-driven development and paired programming.
• Ownership of features from design to production support.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal tooling that embeds AI into day-to-day engineering work.
• Contribute to observability in the AI-assisted pipeline to surface status and gaps.
• Automate manual steps in coding, testing and release processes.
• Split work into small, releasable pieces for continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with product to ensure grounded, deliverable scope.
• Drive AI adoption and evolving ways of working across the team.
• Work with test and PM to bring AI into testing: exploratory generation, defect clustering, flaky tests.
• Evaluate and roll out LLM-based dev tools; integrate with Jira, Confluence, GitLab.
• Follow standards for responsible AI use in SDLC: data handling, guardrails.
• Mentor engineers on effective AI tooling and address security/compliance.
