Qualifications

Senior Full Stack Developer up to £90,000 Remote

Pearson Carter are currently partnering with an innovative technology business specialising in immersive digital learning solutions. Their platform delivers interactive virtual environments, bringing new possibilities to the Education and Healthcare sectors through the use of Virtual Reality.

They are looking to recruit a Senior Full Stack Developer to help shape the future of their platform, contributing to the development of web applications, desktop software and cloud-based services. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies and collaborate with a talented, multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance features across the company's core platform and React-based editor, supporting web, desktop and cloud/edge applications.

• Build and maintain robust, scalable solutions using React and Node.js.

• Ensure code is well-structured, efficient, tested and maintainable.

• Work alongside designers, Unity developers and other engineers to deliver new functionality.

• Contribute to technical planning, product discovery, sprint reviews and wider Agile development activities.

• Help shape system architecture by identifying opportunities for improvement and documenting technical decisions.

• Investigate application issues, troubleshoot defects and improve the performance of cloud-based APIs.

• Support the ongoing development of secure, reliable and high-performing applications.

• Contribute ideas and technical expertise to the continued evolution of the platform.

Experience:

• Strong commercial experience developing applications with React and Node.js.

• Exposure to AI technologies, including LLMs, prompt engineering, AI APIs and integrations.

• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, agentic patterns or MCP would be beneficial.

• Good understanding of Python.

• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQLite.

• Knowledge of ORMs, ideally TypeORM.

• Experience using AWS, Docker and containerisation technologies.

• Strong understanding of software development principles, application architecture and API development.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within an Agile environment.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience developing desktop applications using Electron.

• Familiarity with Material UI (MUI) and Storybook.

• Exposure to Unity, WebGL or similar interactive technologies.

• Previous experience working with immersive technology, Virtual Reality or interactive digital platforms.

Salary

They offer a competitive overall package with a base salary of up to £90,000, depending on experience.

Location

This is a fully remote opportunity, with candidates required to be based in the UK. The business also has an office available for those who would prefer to work on-site or collaborate with colleagues in person.
