Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Frailty for a fixed-term, full-time appointment at the Whiston site. The post requires full GMC registration and MBBS with ALS or equivalent qualifications.

The role focuses on multidisciplinary acute care within the Frailty Unit and Ambulatory SDEC, with collaboration across teams to optimise patient flow and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of applying clinical knowledge and judgment and prioritise clinical need.
• GMC registration is required at time of appointment.
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications and ALS or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Frailty wards Whiston.
• Work in the medical team in the Ambulatory SDEC in the Frailty Unit.
• Support the management of patients on frailty/rehab wards.
• Participate in initial assessment and management of patients in ED and acute frailty unit.
• Liaise with the clinical team and other specialties.
• Collaborate with Consultants, FY1s, CT Trainees and ANPs on patient management.
• Develop skills in ward management to reduce delays and maintain care.
