Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is offering a Senior Clinical Fellow in Frailty on a fixed-term, full-time basis at the Whiston site. The post requires full GMC registration and MBBS or equivalent with ALS, with MRCP desirable.

The role involves contributing to Frailty wards, working with the Ambulatory SDEC Frailty Unit, and supporting management on frailty/rehab wards, with close liaison across specialties and teams.

Qualifications

• Desirable MRCP or equivalent and postgrad training.

Job description

This post is for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Frailty post. This is a Fixed term whole-time post offering SCF post on the Whiston site of Mersey West Lancashire, an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment.

Main duties of the job

• Contribute to the Frailty wards Whiston.
• Work in the medical team in the Ambulatory SDEC in the Frailty Unit.
• Support the management of patients on frailty/rehab wards.
• Participate in the initial assessment and management of patients on in ED and the acute frailty unit.
• Liaise with other members of the clinical team and other specialties.
• Work closely with the Consultants, FY1's, CT Trainees and ANPs about management of patients.
• Develop skills in managing the wards to avoid unnecessary patient delays and maintain good clinical care to all patients.
