Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Geriatrician to deliver expert care for frail older adults across acute and community-linked services. You will lead Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and work within Frailty SDEC, virtual ward, and orthogeriatric pathways to optimise outcomes and reduce unnecessary admissions.

Qualifications

MRCP (UK) and GMC Specialist Register for Geriatric Medicine are required.
Experience at Registrar or Consultant level in geriatrics is essential.
Proven leadership in clinical governance and service development.

Responsibilities

Lead Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for frail, complex patients.
Coordinate Frailty SDEC, virtual ward and acute geriatric wards.
Ensure safe discharge and continuity of care with multidisciplinary teams.
Support education and supervision of junior doctors and staff.
