Job summary

Mersey West Lancashire NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Frailty to join the Whiston site. The post is a fixed-term, full-time appointment for 10 months, offering opportunities to contribute to acute and frailty care within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate must hold GMC registration, MBBS or equivalent, and relevant geriatric medicine qualifications. You will work closely with consultants and junior doctors to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold GMC registration at the time of appointment.
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications.
• ALS or equivalent medical qualification required.
• MRCP or equivalent clinical qualification preferred.
• Speciality Certificate in Geriatric Medicine and evidence of higher learning strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Frailty wards Whiston.
• Work in the medical team in the Ambulatory SDEC in the Frailty Unit.
• Support the management of patients on frailty/rehab wards.
• Participate in initial assessment and management of patients on ED and the acute frailty unit.
• Liaise with other clinical team members and specialties.
• Develop skills in ward management to reduce delays and ensure good clinical care.
