Job summary

X4 Technology in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to join an engineering team focused on high-performance FPGA and SoC solutions.

The role covers the full design lifecycle from architecture to verification, working closely with systems, electronics and software engineers to deliver robust, low-latency hardware.

The position is hybrid with majority remote work and about one week onsite per month in Hampshire, offering up to £80k and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in FPGA and digital hardware design.
• Experience with VHDL/Verilog for complex FPGA implementations.
• Familiar with FPGA development tools and timing analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and verify FPGA and SoC-based solutions.
• Develop VHDL (and/or Verilog) code for complex FPGA implementations.
• Design and integrate FPGA modules, interfaces and reusable IP cores.
• Support video and RF signal processing applications.
• Perform simulation, verification, bench testing and low-level integration.
• Produce design documentation, verification plans and technical reports.
• Develop System-on-Chip functional architectures.
• Collaborate with electronics engineers on PCB design and component selection.
• Perform timing, latency and power analysis.
• Design test frameworks and verification environments.
• Estimate work packages, identify dependencies and contribute to technical planning.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
