Job summary

X4 Technology in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to join a growing maritime engineering team. You will design and implement FPGA and SoC solutions for high‑performance marine systems, delivering complex sensing, navigation and data processing in demanding environments, with mostly remote work and monthly onsite collaboration.

You will work across electronics, embedded software and systems engineering, using Vivado/Quartus, VHDL/Verilog, and develop reusable IP blocks,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Commercial FPGA hardware experience.
• Full FPGA design lifecycle proficiency.
• Experience with Vivado/Quartus/ModelSim in professional projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement FPGA and SoC solutions for marine electronics.
• Develop VHDL and Verilog code for complex digital hardware.
• Create reusable IP blocks and high‑speed interfaces.
• Support embedded processing and sensor integration.
• Perform simulation, verification and hardware validation.
• Participate in system integration, lab testing and debugging.
• Produce design specifications and verification reports.
• Contribute to timing optimization and resource utilisation.
