Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an FPGA Development Engineer to design and develop advanced FPGA-based control and protection systems for HVDC technologies. You will work in an international engineering team to define technical requirements, implement FPGA solutions, and deliver robust designs that meet product and project milestones.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement of FPGA processes, tools, and methodologies across global locations.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on FPGA design and development using VHDL, Verilog or equivalent HDL.
• Strong understanding of digital electronics and engineering principles.
• Excellent hardware and FPGA debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyse requirements and deliver to project timelines.
• Collaborative, proactive, able to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Analyse system requirements and translate into FPGA functions.
• Design, develop and enhance FPGA applications using HDL technologies.
• Support new features while maintaining existing designs to extend lifecycle.
• Produce design specifications and test plans.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing data packs.
• Contribute to design reviews and solve technical challenges.
• Ensure designs meet quality and documentation standards.
• Collaborate across international teams to deliver deliverables.
• Help improve FPGA development processes and tools.
