Ultra Intelligence & Communications Cyber (UK) Business is seeking an FPGA firmware engineer to design, develop, and test firmware for high-assurance electronic systems. You will work within the firmware team to translate system requirements into robust FPGA solutions and integrate with software and hardware environments.

Applicants should have hands-on experience with FPGA toolchains (Xilinx/Lattice/Altera), firmware testing, and the ability to read schematics.

Formación

• Essential: Degree in an engineering, mathematical or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
• Experience of FPGA module design and implementation.
• Thorough experience of using Xilinx, Lattice, Altera or Microsemi FPGAs and their associated development tool chains.
• Experience of FPGA firmware testing, test tools and design for test.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand hardware schematics.
• Experience of version control, change control and bug tracking tools and systems.

Responsabilidades

• Perform requirements analysis from system to firmware level requirements and architecture.
• Apply best and pragmatic practices to FPGA firmware design.
• Implement FPGA firmware modules and ensure adherence to standards and security policies.
• Review requirements to produce firmware test specifications.
• Ensure test procedures align with CI systems.
• Undertake integration with software and hardware.
• Propose improvements to tools, processes and techniques to improve quality and efficiency.
• Contribute to the project to balance requirements, schedule and cost.
• Attend customer meetings with preparation of documents and presentations.
• Estimate time and effort for firmware activities and deliver accordingly.
• Review technical proposals and assist with cost and risk estimates for bids.
