Job summary

Vercel Inc. is seeking a Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer to drive transformation for top enterprise customers. You will lead migrations to Next.js, architect high-performance applications, and build production AI solutions within customer environments.

You will engage hands-on with client teams, navigate ambiguity, and translate technical capabilities into measurable business value while fostering long-term partnerships. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a customer-facing role.
• Experience using AI instrumentation to build and deploy web applications, backend systems, and agentic workflows.
• High agency and comfort in ambiguity, able to navigate complex organizations to deliver a plan.
• Exceptional communication skills, ability to present to executives and mentor engineers.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites for embedded work.

Responsibilities

• Build production AI solutions using eve framework, AI SDK, and AI Cloud infra.
• Lead frontend migrations to Next.js, including Pages to App Router transitions and codebase transformations.
• Conduct code audits and optimize website performance with actionable roadmaps.
• Architect and implement high-performance Next.js apps using App Router, Server Components, ISR.
• Embed with strategic customers to ship TypeScript code in live environments.
• Drive enablement through workshops, pair programming, and documentation.
• Navigate enterprise environments and translate capabilities into business ROI.
• Contribute to repeatable patterns and reusable components shared with Product/Engineering.
