Job summary

Syngenta Group in Bracknell area is seeking a Senior Formulation Development Chemist to join the Formulation Development Department within the Product Technology and Engineering Group. You will lead formulation projects, define workplans, and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

The role involves developing formulations for commercial products, staying current with techniques, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• First degree in Chemistry or closely related field; PhD in Chemistry or related discipline, or relevant industrial experience in a formulation-based role.
• Basic knowledge of project management.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with a proven track record of safe, independent and efficient work.
• Basic knowledge of data science to support experiment design and data analysis.
• Experience in developing formulations for commercial applications; understanding compromises in product development.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a lead formulation scientist within technical project(s) to bring formulated products to market.
• Independently defining formulation workplans, delivering and validating own technical data.
• Engaging independently with technical and non-technical functions across the organization.
• Actively identifying and exploring opportunities to generate broad IP in own projects.
• Providing technical support of formulated products in the market.
• Training colleagues with the ability to effectively supervise less experienced staff when required.
• Developing broad technical knowledge of experimental techniques and staying up to date on developments in the field.
