Job summary

Farmfield Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, is seeking a Principal Psychologist to provide clinical leadership, expert assessment, and a range of therapeutic interventions for men with complex mental health needs in a secure setting.

You will lead psychology services, supervise colleagues, contribute to risk management, and support patient recovery and outcomes through evidence-based practice and service development.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Psychology recognised for graduate membership of the BPS.
• Doctoral Degree in a Practitioner Psychology discipline or HCPC-recognised equivalent.
• HCPC registration as Practitioner Psychologist.
• Proficient knowledge of diverse clinical presentations and psychiatric/psychological assessments.
• Strong foundation in psychometrics and validated assessment tools.
• Advanced understanding of trauma-informed approaches and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and expert psychological assessment for complex cases.
• Develop formulations and deliver evidence-based interventions.
• Lead supervision, training, and professional support for psychology staff.
• Contribute to service development, audits, and research to improve outcomes.
• Provide consultancy across the multidisciplinary team and ensure high standards of care.
