Job summary

Elysium Healthcare Limited is seeking an experienced Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist to provide strategic leadership across medium and low secure services in Wales. You will act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act, ensuring high standards of care and expert clinical oversight.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive governance and service development, and contribute to audits, QI projects, and professional training across hospitals and regional pathways.

Qualifications

• Registered clinician with GMC and CCT/CESR in Psychiatry.
• Experience as Responsible Clinician in secure settings.
• Proven ability to lead MDTs and governance processes.
• Experience with tribunals/courts reports and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead forensic mental health services and strategic clinical governance.
• Provide expert assessments, formulations, and treatment planning.
• Produce reports for tribunals, courts, MoJ and MAPPA.
• Lead research and quality improvement projects in the hospitals/region.
• Teach and supervise trainees and junior medical staff.
