Job description

Insight Investment is looking for a Senior Fixed Income Trader to join the Investments Team in London.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Emerging Markets (both hard currency and local markets), plus experience in High Yield and distressed credit. The role requires a deep understanding of market technicals, trading conventions and liquidity dynamics.

Role Responsibilities

• Primary coverage of the London FI Portfolio Management teams with a focus on general day-to-day trade execution.
• Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective execution of trades in terms of quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Maintain and develop external relationships with counterparties to ensure access to competitive pricing and liquidity sources.
• Propagation of trade ideas, specific axes, headline news and market “technicals” to Portfolio Managers and Analysts.
• Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity to protect IIMGL’s reputation and ensure compliance with industry practice, regulatory requirements, and company policies always.
• Positive interaction with support and oversight functions such as Operations, IT, Risk and Compliance.
• Develop product knowledge and instrument expertise as new investment strategies warrant.
• Participation in specific trading projects as well as contributing to intra departmental projects.
• Ongoing analysis of TCA data and adapt trading strategies to minimise costs associated with execution.
• Participate with trade associations and external forums regarding market infrastructure, regulatory and technology changes and disseminate any pertained impact to the relevant personnel.
• Collaborate with the trading team to ensure all trading procedures, polices and controls are regularly evaluated with compliance and updated in accordance with their annual review cycle.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Fixed Income trading, with a focus on Emerging Markets and High Yield Credit
• Derivative exposure (CDS, Index, IRS, Options, TRS, ETFs and Exchange traded Derivatives)
• Develop and maintain established counterparty relationships (Sales & Trading)
• Comprehensive knowledge of OMS, EMS and trading platforms: Bloomberg, Market Axess, Tradeweb, Thinkfolio, Flextrade, Directbooks, Ipreo
• Technical proficiency in Python, VBA, Excel and quantitative tools a strong advantage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong working knowledge of trade automation, with a focus on Portfolio / list trading, and auto-execution. Expertise in post-trade analysis and Trade Cost Analysis (TCA) to optimise execution strategies and minimise trading costs.
• Contribute to the investment process. Attend Investment meetings, collaborate with portfolio managers and credit analysts. Provide market colour, liquidity, and technical information to internal stakeholders
