Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer for our Cardiff design center to contribute to PACS RFID access control products. You will develop embedded firmware in C and C#, debug designs, and validate work across the product lifecycle, collaborating with colleagues onsite and overseas.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in firmware development, strong cryptography skills, experience with CI/CD and version control, and hands-on experience with debuggers and low‑level tooling.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent or suitable experience.
• Minimum 4+ years in related industry experience.
• Ability to verify product software requirements and create designs from user/stakeholder stories.

Responsibilities

• Implement embedded firmware designs and test solutions in C and C#.
• Implement cryptographic solutions and ensure design documentation is complete.
• Hands-on debugging of embedded systems and collaboration across departments.
• Deliver tasks with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Maintain and contribute to FW/SW development progress and use standard tools.
