Job summary

HID Global in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to drive embedded firmware design, debugging and sustaining activities across PACS products used worldwide.

You’ll join a small, versatile team, collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues onsite and overseas, and occasionally travel to support multiple products through their lifecycles. The role offers a competitive salary and a supportive, innovative culture.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent or suitable experience.
• Minimum of 4+ years of related industry experience.
• Experience with cryptographic solutions including symmetric & PKI asymmetric.
• Ability to verify product software requirements.
• Familiar with many low‑level developer techniques.
• Familiar with TDD Unit testing and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of embedded firmware designs and test solutions primarily in C and C#.
• Implementation of cryptographic solutions.
• Creation of design documentation.
• Practical hands-on experience working with and debugging embedded systems.
• Working in a team environment.
• Ability to complete design related tasks with minimal supervision.
