Job summary

Star International in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Fire Technician to service a wide range of firefighting equipment on ships across the UK and occasionally Europe.

You will perform installations, repairs, and maintenance, diagnose issues, and maintain detailed records while delivering excellent customer service and working to a safety-first standard.

Travel up to 60% is expected, with UK offshore assets and some overseas work; a BAFE qualification and full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• BAFE qualification required.
• Experience with fire suppression systems, breathing apparatus, EEBD, extinguishers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and plan jobs with required equipment and supplies.
• Willingness to travel/overnight stays (up to 60%).

Responsibilities

• Perform installations on ships across the UK and occasionally Europe.
• Undertake repairs and maintenance on FFE equipment on site or in factory.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and recommend solutions.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
